Coaches Corner - July 2026

The first two sessions as a team training together has been very positive. Unfortunately WA has a shortage of players in certain age groups, in the GU19 we only have one player and we are pretty thin in other age groups. Fortunately, we are blessed with good numbers and talent in our ‘Youth’ group, which is good for the future. We are focused on building a positive team culture which is inclusive, and welcomes the support of the greater team and squash community.

State 35+ (Masters) Titles

The WA State 35+ (Masters) Championships was held at the State Centre in Belmont on the 17 and 18 July 2026.  This prestigious tournament has been running since 1982, a wonderful 45 years of history to date, with many notable winners. The tournament is unique in that divisions are age-based rather than ability-based, which means you may get to play anyone! This only occurs in Masters and Juniors on an annual basis - so this is a special tournament.

2026 State Junior Titles

Since graduating from juniors the tournament FOMO has been crippling, so when I was approached to direct the State titles this year, I was more than happy! Arguably the most prestigious event on the WA junior calendar and with one of our largest and strongest competitions yet, who wouldn't want a slice?

2026 State Junior Team Announced

With just 11 weeks until Nationals, the squad begins training under the guidance of Head Coach David Fear and Assistant Coaches Lisa Christou and Josh Blakey. Wearing the state colours is a fantastic achievement, and we can't wait to see what this team can do.

Coaches Corner - June 2026

“Squids” (Squash + Kids) is a fun, energetic introduction to squash for children aged three to eight, pioneered by Mirrabooka Squash Club. Built around play rather than formal coaching, it helps young children build confidence, coordination and a love of movement from their very first time on court.

2026 Autumn Monday Pennants

Well after 7 rounds of the regular Monday night pennants season along with several public holidays just to stretch the season out a bit longer, followed up with two rounds of finals all played at Squashworld Mirrabooka, it all came down to the last night to see who would take out GRAND FINAL GLORY.
