A Weekend to Remember at the Leschenault Teams Tournament

Published Tue 01 Sep 2026

Thanks Cole Jerome!

The Leschenault Teams Tournament was an awesome weekend for all the juniors who took part. Run by Serena and MJ the trip gave us a great opportunity to play plenty of squash, meet new people and gain experience against players we wouldn’t normally get the chance to play.

From the moment we arrived, the weekend had a fun and exciting atmosphere. Everyone played amazingly and tried their best on court, but there was some time to relax, have fun and spend time together off court. The locals, metro and country players were incredibly welcoming and friendly, this made it easy to meet new people and enjoy the tournament, even while competing against new opponents.

One of the best parts of the weekend was experiencing a variety of players and play styles. Playing players from different clubs and areas gave us a chance to test ourselves, we learnt from our matches and gained invaluable match experience that we can take back into our regular competitions. It was also great seeing everyone supporting each other throughout the weekend and celebrating each other’s successes.

There were plenty of memories made away from the courts too. One of the highlights was celebrating Patrick’s birthday together, which was a great way to bring everyone together and made it feel more like a team hangout then a tournament. Happy 13th Patrick 🥳🥳

The whole weekend was really well organised by Serena and MJ, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the work that went into making it happen. From the squash itself to the accommodation and food, everything went really well and created a memory filled weekend we’ll remember forever.

But rather than just hearing it from me, here’s what some of the other juniors who went had to say about their experience:

I had such a great time, the organisers at the Leschenault squash club were very friendly and helpful, making it a great first country tournament for me. I am looking forward to next year and would absolutely recommend it to others.” – James (15)

Fantastic experience, couldn’t have asked for better people to do it with. Would highly recommend going for any person of any level, can’t wait for the next one.” – Jaxon (15)

"Going to Leschenault was an amazing experience, has been undoubtedly one of the best experiences I’ve had going to tournaments, it has not only improved my squash greatly, it has also brought me closer to the people around me. I’ve gained experience from playing new people and overall, I’ve had an amazing time” - Eleanor (11)

Overall, the Leschenault Teams Tournament was a fantastic experience. We got to play some great squash, meet new people, make new friends and create plenty of memories together. A huge thank you to MJ and Serena and everyone involved in organising and supporting the trip. All of us juniors are infinitely grateful for the opportunity and hope there are plenty more trips like this in the future!
