Thanks Lauren Smith!

What a weekend in Manjimup! This long weekend we hosted the Manjimup Triples, Teams Tournament, the first tournament at the Manjimup Squash Club in more than 20 years.

Thank you to all our players who travelled from across Perth, Peel, Wheatbelt and South-West regions. Across three divisions, players took on four matches each over the weekend - plenty of tough squash, plus a few sneaky reverse boasts, drop shots and quality rallies.

  • Runners Up: Heyoooo - Oliver Godson, Dave Windsor, Jessie Ward-Thomas

Division 2 (presented by Luke Brody - GB&JT Carpentry)

  • Winners: Shiiiiiiiitttt! - Mike Genders, Vincent Rodgers, Erin Zolnier
  • Runners Up: Katanning Elites - Anthony Kowald, Robert Blechynden, Danny
    McGrath

Division 3 (presented by Mike Genders - Warthog Washers)

  • Winners: Cosmic Crisps - Shaun Whittaker, Liam Hanson, Jamie O'Dea
  • Runners Up: Good Times - Mitch Wells, Sam Morgan, Jack Mingay-Robinson

A massive thank you to the Manjimup Country Club for allowing us to host the tournament, and to our bar managers Ken and Luke for volunteering their time across the weekend. Thanks also to Manjimup SportsPower for the engraved Manjimup Squash Club Yetis, The Racquet Shop for the vouchers, club members Shaun and Dave for the fruit and veggie boxes, and Hillzeez for our winner and runner up prizes. Thank you to Manjimup Meat Mart for supplying vouchers for our raffle, and a special thanks to Tracy who kept our players fed through the canteen all weekend and donated all proceeds to the Cancer Council.

Thank you to our 2026 sponsors and tournament supporters: Burnbank Mechanical & Agricultural; Warthog Washers; GB&JT Carpenters; Hillzeez; Manjimup Meat Mart; The Racquet Shop; Manjimup SportsPower; Manjimup Gateway Hotel; Manjimup Country Club; Specialised Rebuild Services Australia.

Congratulations to all teams, and thanks to everyone who travelled and helped make it such a memorable return for tournament squash in Manjimup.

Thanks Dave Windsor!

Manji was a great little tourney that can only grow. Top ten crowd and everyone stuck around to watch, support and have a bevvy or two. Pizzas on Saturday night really hit the spot after two scheduled games, and the Sunday presentation was followed by another great sit-down dinner. This event was really well run and supported by plenty of regulars as well as numerous newbies.

We stayed at the Gateway Hotel (sponsor) too and it was great; really clean and great value. Having dinner and drinks at the front bar was great, and it was a hoot watching the locals.

Congrats to the committee and country club for making this happen. Woohoo for next year!! ðŸ¤™ðŸ¤™

Thanks Corina Malatzky!

Boy oh boy, what a thunderous atmosphere from the start of the first round matches!! (that you definitely didn’t sleep in and miss). Because why would you when you’ve got a gorgeous little camping spot right nearby with solid amenities??? (bar). Honestly such a gem of a tournament and deserves traction for good reason. Must-do, borderline bucket list type deal.

Thanks Jamie Herring!

As someone who was fortunate to play in the Manjimup teams tournament in the late 90s (which was a much looked forward to event back then!), it was pleasing to see this event make it's way back onto the squash calendar for 2026 after far too long of an absence.

The squash courts are inside a country club which was really handy with a nearby bar on premise to keep players and spectators well hydrated all weekend, while the courts themselves were in great condition and played really well all weekend. An added bonus for travelling players was the ability to camp on site at the country club, removing the need to worry about "over hydrating" post your matches and having to drive!

As always, being a team-based event, there was a real sense of camaraderie and healthy competitiveness amongst players within their respective divisions, but once the squash was over it was great to mingle around a country camp fire and share a laugh and sing-a-long with fellow players. Even more special was Katanning's Ash Clarke setting up his acoustic set-up on Saturday night for a VIP camp gig.

After a cheeky 9 holes of golf on Sunday morning, it was back on the court and time to finish out the weekend. Our team was lucky enough to come away with a win and presented with some really great prizes courtesy of the sponsors.

Thanks for all involved at Manji squash club - look forward to seeing this event grow even more next year. Get involved!
